Internal Family Systems (IFS)
When we listen, our bodies are always speaking to us. IFS is a powerful and transformative evidenced based model of psychotherapy that assumes we have multiple parts of our personality, each part is triggered or signaling you for a reason, it has a story, wants to be heard, and can be healed.
Whether these parts of you present as anxious, fearful, angry, ambivalent, etc, the IFS model believes that “All parts are welcome” and really are working to protect you in the best way they know how. Not only are all parts welcomed, but IFS helps you to develop compassion for these parts of your personality that react, and helps you to increase your ability to better manage and understand why they get triggered.
The best part of the IFS approach is that its a self-led model. This means the therapist guides while you deeply connect and listen to what your body is saying to you. Your body really has the answers! IFS has played a major role in how our clients have compassionately connected with themselves and healed past hurts and wounds.
